Description:

L’Association des services de réhabilitation sociale du Québec (ASRSQ) is an umbrella organization composed of 63 community organizations across the province of Quebec providing over 100 points of service for persons involved in the criminal justice system. ASRSQ is one of few organizations working in the area of corrections and community reintegration that provides direct service to the francophone community. The organization also contributes to the national policy dialogue on matters related to criminal justice, with a recent focus on the Criminal Records Act and Bill C-93. ASRSQ’s target population is its member organizations, the general public and federal/provincial institutions.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes following the provision of funding under the GP to NVOs include the following:

Immediate Outcomes
• Increased knowledge and understanding for decision-making in Canada’s criminal justice and corrections systems.
• Shared knowledge and awareness leading to enhanced delivery of services, such as dissemination of information.
• Improved intersectoral/interdisciplinary collaboration and delivery of services.

Intermediate Outcomes
• Contribution to national policy dialogue on matters related to criminal justice.
• Increased capacity of the organization to fulfill its mandate.
• Increased community capacity to work with victims, offenders, families, and local officials such as police and emergency first responders.

Long Term Outcome
• A safer, secure and more resilient Canadian society.
