Agreement Value:

Agreement Date:
Apr 27, 2020 - Mar 31, 2023
Description:
The CAA has operated a data exchange service for professional avalanche operations in Canada since 1991. InfoEx is the world’s largest daily exchange of avalanche-related data and the starting point for nearly all AvSAR decisions in Canada. This data is submitted by hundreds of avalanche professionals from around 140 agencies. Accessing the information supplied by InfoEx is the crucial first step for all AvSAR callouts. However, technical limitations threaten its core purposes as the foundation of AvSAR decision making. The MAInEx project will take the InfoEx concept—an open exchange of professional-level data—to the next level of interoperability. This new approach promises to benefit a wide variety of applications: AvSAR Decision Support Avalanche conditions can change rapidly. Navigating avalanche terrain safely requires access to the best data possible.
