The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding for repairs and upgrades to the existing police facility in Batchewana First Nation including: fencing, paving and accessibility upgrades to ensure the front entry-way is accessible and meets accessibility codes under Ontario's Accessibility Code.

As a result of this project, the police facility will have improved accessibility, designated parking area for personnel vehicles, police units will be free to utilize the driveway as deemed necessary, and they will have cleaner and ergonomically correct chairs.

(FFNIPF) Funding for First Nation and Inuit Policing Facilities

Program Purpose:

The program purpose is to improve the safety and well-being of occupants of First Nations and Inuit police facilities by providing financial assistance to plan, repair, reconstruct and/or acquire new police facilities. This program is central to achieving the result whereby First Nation and Inuit communities are expected to have access to dedicated and responsive police services. Ensuring that communities have safe and healthy police facilities contributes to this result.
