The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to the Wapekeka First Nation for emergency repairs to the existing police facility. The repairs will address critical deficiencies to the roof and furnace.

As a result of this project, the police detachment of Wapekeka First Nation will be updated to address critical deficiencies and ensure the facility remains functional. The program purpose is to improve the safety and well-being of occupants of First Nations and Inuit police facilities by providing financial assistance to plan, repair, reconstruct and/or acquire new police facilities. This program is central to achieving the result whereby First Nation and Inuit communities are expected to have access to dedicated and responsive police services. Ensuring that communities have safe and healthy police facilities contributes to this result.
