Description:
This project will build on the work piloted by the CRC at the Centre de Formation Federal, a federal penitentiary located in Laval, QC. At this location the team met with the management team, and subsequently each of the different auxiliary service, to review the infection prevention and control measures currently in place, coach teams on best practices, support the implementation of prevention measures, and assisted with guidance on safe and secure reopening of services.

Expected Results:
The first wave of CRC services will concentrate on preparedness and prevention, looking to equip facilities not currently experiencing an outbreak, with the IPC tools and knowledge needed to prevent and combat future COVID19 outbreaks. In the event of an outbreak, the CRC – at the request of the facility and/or could return to provide priority assistance in containment / mitigation, further outlined below.

Program Purpose:
The objective of the Program is to enable the Canadian Red Cross (CRC) to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires.
Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
