Grants and Contributions:
Address youth gang prevention based in the Cree culture through culturally adaptive interventions based on the medicine wheel teachings; spiritual, physical, mental and emotional health. A culturally based, focused, collaborative and comprehensive approach to gang recruitment prevention will reduce the rate of gang activity and the impact of gang activity on personal safety and wellness of community members.
The purpose of this amendment is to decrease Public Safety Canada funding amount from $3,709,626.24 to $3,609,626.24.
The program purpose is to provide time-limited grant and contribution funding for initiatives in communities where youth gangs are an existing or emerging threat and support initiatives that clearly target youth in gangs or at greatest risk of joining gangs.
