The purpose of the contribution is to provide funding to understand and assess the experience and views of those who have shared, or who would consider sharing, concerns with authorities about “intimate others” (i.e., partners, family members, friends), specifically, their concerns regarding suspected involvement in violent extremist activity across the ideological, political, and social spectrum at home and/or abroad.

The expected outcomes are direct policy and practice insights and recommendations that optimize the vital role of “intimates” in connecting potentially at-risk individuals to relevant local service intervention and support structures; robust internationally comparative data that will enable government and law enforcement to develop and enhance systems and processes that encourage, facilitate, support, and address meaningful community reporting needs and concerns; a rigorously developed evidence base for further policy development of mechanisms to enhance and support greater community awareness of and willingness to report on CRV concerns.
