This project is to increase capacity of local internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Units by providing training to Halifax Regional Police (HRP) staff members within the Digital Forensic Unit (DFU).

Increased capacity of the Halifax DFU team to prevent victimization of children; increased efficiency of the Halifax DFU; advancement of efforts of the Halifax ICE Unit to investigate such crimes in a thorough and timely manner; informed understanding as to the scope and prevalence of organized crime relating to CSE; more substantial basis on which to develop future policies and procedures to enhance the province’s efforts to combat serious and organized crime of this nature.
