Program Purpose:

The overall objective of the program is to support Canada's Heavy Urban Search and Resuce (HUSAR) capacity by strengthening the abilities of six HUSAR Task Forces across Canada.

The project has three distinct components: a transportation plan, a communication plan and operational readiness. The objectives include: to be operationally ready and deployable instantaneously upon notification of an activation to respond to any type of disaster; to enable operational readiness and enhance communication capabilities that increase interoperability between HUSAR teams, SAR Teams and other stakeholders; and, to address numerous high priority needs identified by subject matter experts to restore fundamental capability and improve interoperability.
