Program Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to revise the Canadian Avalanche Association’s (CAA) remaining avalanche risk assessment curriculum with the competency profiles that the CAA has developed over the last several years. The project will also address the gap left behind with the search and rescue groups that cannot readily access CAA training due to their location. It will achieve these goals through the development of training and by recommending strategic direction for addressing variable avalanche search and rescue capacity.
