Description:
The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to the recipient to foster their participation on activities related to the mandate commitment of the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, specifically to co-develop a legislative framework that recognizes First Nations policing as an essential service and to work with interested First Nations to expand the First Nations Policing Program (FNPP).

Enhanced FNCPA capacity with respect to First Nations policing, increased knowledge of shortfalls and gaps for all FNPP services in Canada, established participation on panels/tables to provide expert advice on First Nations policing and administration, and ongoing direct input and consultation on the development of the First Nations police services essential services legislation, including regulations and implementation as required.
