The projected outcomes for this project include : A Community Safety Plan (CSP) is implemented in Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation; Increased opportunities for members to participate in diverse pro-social cultural, healing, health, and safety initiatives; Improved cultural connections within the community; Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation has increased capacity to respond to community safety issues; Improved community social cohesion and engagement; Improved physical, emotional, and social safety; A healthier and safer home and community life for all Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation community members; Improved cultural connections within the community; Increased capacity to respond to community safety issues; Improved community social cohesion and engagement; Improved physical, emotional, and social safety; and a healthier and safer home and community life for all Kelly Lake community members
The purpose of the contributions is to provide support to Aboriginal organizations (on and off-reserve), Aboriginal governments and municipalities in collaboration with Aboriginal organizations and or communities to develop tailored approaches to community safety, alternatives to incarceration and reintegration of Aboriginal offenders that are responsive to the concerns, priorities and unique circumstances of Aboriginal communities.
