Description:
In the application, the project was described as follows: The goal of this project is to ensure that women and gender diverse individuals who are eligible for a record suspension obtain that suspension in a timely and supportive manner; addressing emerging related needs such as financial barriers, trauma and the need for peer support or accompaniment. Public Safety funding will help create record suspension services via hiring and training staff and volunteers to offer more one-on-one services to clients.

Expected Results:
The results of the project are in line with those of the program:
- Determination of client eligibility for a pardon ;
- Subsidies for additional documentation (e.g. court records, police records, fingerprinting);
- Application assistance;
- Liaison with court, local police or RCMP personnel;
- Creation of communication products related to project services; and,
- Training, education or workshops related to accessing the pardon program.
Specifically, the application lists:
- Dispelling myths through education and awareness; and
- Improving access to the suspension of records for all women and people of different gender, particularly those with limited financial means and other barriers such as travel such as travel, language or lack of time.
