Description:
This project will develop and test an App designed to assist those leaving federal prisons to find service providers in their communities to address their identified needs. An advisory committee guiding the project will include: those with lived experience; representatives from Indigenous, Black, and other groups overrepresented in prisons; and those with expertise in reintegration, service provision and technological development.

Expected Results:
The intended outcome of this project is to increase awareness and knowledge on ways information technology can bridge the gaps between federal incarceration and provincial / municipal/ not-for-profit "aftercare" services. The project's long-term goal is to develop an innovative and effective approach to community engagement for both those receiving and those providing reintegration support services in addition to reducing recidivism and increasing public safety.
