Description:
The MAInEx project will take the InfoEx concept (an open exchange of professional-level data) to the next level of interoperability. This project's new approach promises to benefit a wide variety of applications: AvSAR Decision Support Avalanche conditions can change rapidly, navigating avalanche terrain safely requires access to the best data possible. Effective AvSAR responses require exceptional planning and informed risk management decisions made in the field. These decisions are based on the data at hand and MAInEx will ensure the most current and accurate data is made available to SAR teams.

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes of this project are to improve access to critical information that is crucial to decision making to manage the safety of responders, to develop new types and formats of data being shared to support AvSAR risk assessment allowing AvSAR responders to apply new data visualization during avalanche risk analysis. The long-term expected outcomes of this project are to reduce avalanche accidents, injuries and deaths in addition to supporting long-term avalanche research.
