Description:
The Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) will introduce the COPA Safety Academy (CSA), Canada’s first Search and Rescue (SAR) eLearning platform dedicated to recreational operators. The CSA, will house, deliver and track the effectiveness of its SAR training, benefiting the SAR community with insight into pilot knowledge levels and learning behaviours. At the same time, recreational pilots will gain new and engaging learning experiences, customizable for in-person meetings, on-demand training, and live virtual events.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of this project is for COPA Flight and Safety Foundation to develop SAR Prevention Training Modules which will include 4 video-based courses with learning materials. The long-term expected outcomes is for the COPA Safety Academy to establish comprehensive course material that is suitable for both in-person and online learning. This project will ensure that pilots have access to the necessary SAR training that is required to maintain their licenses.
