This project facilitated by the Métis National Council Secretariat Inc. (MNC) will include the development of several training sessions designed to build emergency management capacity amongst the four Métis Governing Members (GM). Training composition will be tailored to meet the specific needs of each GM. The MNC aims to engage with GMs for the co-development of a Métis National Emergency Management Strategy.

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes are to develop several targeted training courses for Métis emergency managers, to develop MNC capacity for participation in and organization of the EMPBM WG, enhance Métis emergency management collaboration between Métis emergency managers and their respective municipal and provincial emergency management agencies, support the continued engagement and co-development of EM priorities and strategies between the Métis Nation and Canada, enable reciprocal and perpetual EM capacity and capabilities for Métis communities by Métis communities with residual benefits for all Canadians and co-develop long term sustainable EM strategies and priorities between the MNC and Canada.
