Grants and Contributions:
The immediate expected outcome of the project is to successfully support early recovery and the recovery of individual and household level by addressing unmet relief need from the Nova Scotia 2023 wildfires. This also includes increasing accessibility to mental health support and enhancing services to all. The medium-term outcomes of the project aim to improve the ability of affected populations to recover from disasters more successfully, with the overall long-term goal of helping Canadians by continuing to deliver services to people in need.
Public Safety Canada's (COV19) Supporting the Canadian Red Cross’s Urgent Relief Efforts Related to COVID-19, Floods and Wildfires program enable the CRC to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires. Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
