Alberta Fires 2023 Matching Program
Agreement Number:
23323
Agreement Value:
$7,494,198.79
Agreement Date:
Nov 6, 2024 - Mar 31, 2026
Description:
This project will leverage the Canadian Red Cross's existing capacity and provide support and service delivery gaps for the immediate and long-term to those affected by the Alberta 2023 wildfires. This will be accomplished through financial support that will not replicate government assistance and psychosocial support.
Organization:
Public Safety Canada
Expected Results:

The immediate expected outcome of the project is to support relief to those affected by the Alberta 2023 wildfires by collaborating with local authorities on the provision of stocks and supplies such as clean-up kits, and assisting with referrals to community support groups. The medium-term outcome is to help local authorities with providing mental health expertise, to help communities reinforce community structures to meet the surge in demands for direct aid and/or service delivery to affected populations, and to ensure that all population groups get the assistance they need. The overall long-term goal is helping Canadians by continuing to deliver services to people in need.
