Description:
The main purpose of the Safer Way Out (formerly known as Integrated Response for Victims of Sex Trafficking and Exploitation) project is to develop a coordinated, community response that is driven by the needs of victims of human trafficking to ensure responses are appropriate to victims who require wrap around services with safety as a priority. This project will focus on the geographical region of Red Deer, Edmonton, and Northern Alberta.

Expected Results:

By conclusion of this project Red Deer and Northern Alberta will have an integrated and coordinated network and response to support victims of human trafficking. Service providers will have increased capacity to identify and respond to complex cases of human trafficking and sexually exploited individuals. Victims of Human Trafficking will receive a consistent response from service providers that is based on trauma informed practice. Red Deer and Northern Alberta will have a model of service delivery that is responsive to victims/survivors needs and fits for the geographical area.
