Description:
The project seeks to support victims and survivors of human trafficking by understanding their needs and identifying and supporting better access to wraparound community supports. The project will ensure that a victim-centered/trauma-informed approach is integrated into the engagement with victims/survivors of human trafficking. By identifying their individual needs and culturally appropriate supports in their community, we can empower victims/survivors to escape these insurmountable barriers.

Expected Results:

The objective of this project is to provide best practices in empowering victims/survivors of human trafficking (HT). Appropriate supports for HT victims and survivors by location will be successfully identified and there will be an increase in referrals and support for victims/survivors of human trafficking through a better collaboration with Multi Agency Working Groups. Development and utilization of HT Victim Needs Assessment and Transition Planning is also expected to be accomplished. Members will be trained on trauma-informed and victim-centred approaches to empower victims of human trafficking. A framework for victim-centred and trauma-informed approach to assisting and understanding the needs of victims/survivors of HT will be established. Concrete knowledge and tools to support victims/survivors of human trafficking to access wraparound services will have been successfully disseminated.
