Description:
This funding is for engagement sessions that will facilitate input and help identify significant issues with program/service delivery in the forty-five First Nations, who are signatory to the thirty-three CTAs in Saskatchewan. This will establish an information baseline to expedite one on one renewal discussion between the recipient communities and the funders, planned to begin in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024-25.

Expected Results:

This funding will be used by the Government of Saskatchewan to support the participation and travel of First Nation Community Consultative Groups to attend information sessions on their community's CTA.

  • The information sessions supported through this funding will help educate CTA communities on how they can utilize their Letter of Expectation to ensure the First Nation and Inuit Policing Program Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers are dedicated to the community they serve.

    • The purpose of these meetings are to support and inform First Nation communities on what their CTA is able to do for them. Having a dedicated FNIPP officer in community will ensure community members feel safe.
