Description:
Elizabeth Fry (EFry) Greater Vancouver is requesting funds to begin a record suspension program targeting women and gender divers people in the Greater Toronto Area. The goal of the proposed program is to ensure women who are eligible for a record suspension secure the suspension in a timely and supportive manner; addressing emerging related needs such as financial barriers, trauma, and the need for peer support or accompaniment support.

The goal of proposed project is to ensure women who are eligible for a record suspension, secure the suspension in a timely and supportive manner; addressing emerging related needs such as financial barriers, trauma, and the need for peer support or accompaniment support. This goal is split into client-focused and organizational-focused outcomes.

The client-focused relevant outcomes measured will be:
- Increased knowledge of record suspension process (immediate);
- Increased access to a supportive record suspension process; (immediate);
- Increased advocacy and navigation skills (intermediate); and
- Increased capacity to reintegrate into one’s community (long term).

The sector/organizational -focused relevant outcomes measured will be:
- Increased sector and organizational capacity to support women seeking record suspensions (immediate);
- Increased number of successful record suspension applications (intermediate); and
- Increased available data identifying challenges within the current system with the intention of improving the process and available supports after this grant ends. (long-term).
