Grants and Contributions:
The goal of proposed project is to ensure women who are eligible for a record suspension, secure the suspension in a timely and supportive manner; addressing emerging related needs such as financial barriers, trauma, and the need for peer support or accompaniment support. This goal is split into client-focused and organizational-focused outcomes.
The client-focused relevant outcomes measured will be:
- Increased knowledge of record suspension process (immediate);
- Increased access to a supportive record suspension process; (immediate);
- Increased advocacy and navigation skills (intermediate); and
- Increased capacity to reintegrate into one’s community (long term).
The sector/organizational -focused relevant outcomes measured will be:
- Increased sector and organizational capacity to support women seeking record suspensions (immediate);
- Increased number of successful record suspension applications (intermediate); and
- Increased available data identifying challenges within the current system with the intention of improving the process and available supports after this grant ends. (long-term).
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the agreement date to March 31, 2027 and to increase the Public Safety Canada funding amount from $897,000.00 to $1,007,000.00.
The Grants and Contributions Program to Voluntary Organizations (GCP VO) supports the development of public safety policies and delivery of services by providing funding to voluntary organizations to maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses.
