Grants and Contributions:
The specific objective of the contribution stream is to provide funding for NVOs to create or expand application support services for individuals with criminal records looking to apply for a record suspension.
In assisting individuals with their record suspension applications, Connective aims to increase opportunities to connect individuals with other programs, Indigenous Justice Centres, and community resources based on their person-centred plan, thereby building a support network to assist them in navigating barriers related to their criminal record. Additionally they hope to contribute to the elimination of significant barriers individuals with criminal records face with employment, housing and the overlying stigmas
associated with having a criminal record. An ultimate long-term goal identified
by Connective is their hope that their record suspension program becomes a core
service.
