Description:

The City of Greater Sudbury will develop a prevention and/or intervention approach to address local youth gun and gang activity. The objective of this developmental agreement is to develop a comprehensive multi-year project aimed at decreasing gun and gang violence in the City of Greater Sudbury as well as the Atikameksheng First Nation and Wahnapitae First Nation communities.

• The overall expected outcome is for the City to be equipped to address gun and gang violence through intervention and prevention initiative and activities will be sustained at the end of the BSCF funding, and to build a comprehensive multi-year strategy, which will focus on reducing youth involvement in gun and gang activity in the City of Greater Sudbury, the Atikameksheng First Nation and Wahnapitae First Nation communities, with the intention to put in place community-led projects that combat gun and gang violence and address knowledge gaps concerning the impacts of their interventions.
