The initiative ensured that the host jurisdiction had the incremental security resources—particularly equipment and personnel—required to support Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) led security operations, achieved through the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal and other key stakeholders, coordinated via the Ministère de la Sécurité publique. Early and ongoing federal engagement with the host jurisdiction advanced cost‑effective planning and procurement and supported the progression of the contribution agreement. Over the longer term, collaboration between the federal government and the municipality was strengthened to support coordinated security operations.
