Description:
The City of Prince George will implement a 3-year prevention/intervention plan addressing gun and gang violence, alongside community partners, to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors among participating at-risk youth.

Expected Results:

Short-Term: The City of Prince George will have funding for prevention and intervention initiatives to address and respond to gun and gang violence:
- Complete planning for the implementation of the STRIVE program, which will look to use prevention initiatives to target at-risk youth as they progress through the school system.

Medium-Term: The City of Prince George will implement informed prevention and intervention initiatives to respond to gun and gang violence:
- Develop criteria for the initial participant cohort and conduct in-take activities so that the STRIVE program includes at-risk youth that have a demonstrated need for prevention initiatives.
- Deliver STRIVE programming to youth that involves learning vocational skills and collaborative
practices which will benefit them in the future.
- Locate a dedicated space so that youth participants can meet for after-school programming.

Long-Term: The City of Prince George will be equipped to address gun and gang violence through intervention and prevention initiatives:
- Amalgamate resources used for the STRIVE programs throughout the years in a resource hub for community partners to use.
- Develop a sustainability plan for STRIVE programming to be delivered to multiple cohorts on an ongoing basis after the project expires.
