Short-term results (1 year):
1. Increased knowledge and understanding for decision-making in Canada's criminal justice and corrections systems.
2. Innovative approaches, lessons learned and best practices documents.
3. Shared knowledge and awareness leading to enhanced delivery of services such as dissemination of information.
4. Improved intersectoral/interdisciplinary collaboration and delivery of services.
Medium-term results (2 to 4 years):
1. Recommendations to modify policies and legislation.
2. Increased public education and confidence in Canada's criminal justice, emergency management, and national security systems.
3. Increased capacity of NVOs and not-for-profit organizations to fulfill their mandates.
Long-term results (5 years):
1. Improved outcomes for CoSA and its partners leading to a safer, secure and more resilient Canadian society.
2. Increased criminal justice stakeholder and public trust in the criminal justice system.
The Grants and Contributions Program to Voluntary Organizations (GCP VO) supports the development of public safety policies and delivery of services by providing funding to voluntary organizations to maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses.
