Description:
The Canadian Criminal Justice Association provides the public, criminal justice participants, and concerned observers with balanced information and education on justice issues through such initiatives as Publications, Website, Conferences, speaker series, seminars, congresses and Training opportunities.
Organization:
Public Safety Canada
Expected Results:

Immediate Outcomes: CCJA will partner with various government agencies as opportunities present themselves with the aim of contributing to the knowledge base. During the year 2026, CCJA is planning to host a conference on aged offenders-in partnership with the Correctional Service of Canada. In addition, it is developing a joint congress with Laval University and Universite de Quebec a Montreal in event examining violence from different perspectives. The CCJA not only advocates for justice, equity and the protection of rights, it fosters communication, collegiality, consensus and cooperation among all stakeholders. It also promotes research and the advancement of knowledge through its various initiatives and publications.

Intermediate Outcomes: CCJA will continue the work that began many decades ago while including the specific initiatives noted above. In addition, they see a need to seek out more external partners in their quest to maintain their national biennial congress in 2028. This is a major challenge; however, they will be investing great effort in recruiting new partners, including the private sector. The results will also inform their path towards Congress 2030.

Long-term Outcomes: CCJA work will continue in year 5. Hopefully with an enhanced resource base and a rejuvenated membership, including the many new students that have connected in recent years, we will be able to accomplish even more, as CCJA commences its 111th year of providing balanced, evidence-based service to Canadians.
