-An effective national structure for JHSs to support program and policy delivery.
-Increased knowledge and understanding of Canada’s criminal justice and corrections systems.
-Shared knowledge and awareness leading to enhanced delivery of services.
-Improved collaboration and delivery of services.
Medium-term results (2 to 4 years):
-Recommendations to modify policies and legislation.
-Increased public education and confidence in Canada’s criminal justice system.
-Increased capacity of JHSs to fulfill their mandates.
-Increased community capacity to work with victims, offenders, families, and local officials such as police and emergency first responders.
Long-term results (5 years):
-A safer, more secure, more just, and resilient Canadian society.
The Grants and Contributions Program to Voluntary Organizations (GCP VO) supports the development of public safety policies and delivery of services by providing funding to voluntary organizations to maintain a national structure and cover core operating expenses.
