Description:

The project supports the core operational capacity of National Associations Active in Criminal Justice (NAACJ) to sustain a national network of voluntary organizations advancing corrections and community reintegration in Canada. By maintaining national leadership and coordination, the project strengthens collaboration, research-informed advocacy, public education, and engagement with Public Safety Canada, contributing to reduced recidivism and improved public safety.

Short-term results (1 year):
- An effective national structure for NAACJ to support program and policy delivery of its members;
- Increased knowledge and understanding of Canada’s criminal justice and corrections systems;

- Improved collaboration among members in the delivery of services.

Medium-term results (2 to 4 years):
- Program evolution among members to address evolving criminal justice system priorities;
- Research-informed recommendations from members to modify programs, policies, and legislation;
- Increased public education and confidence in Canada’s criminal justice;
- Increased capacity of NAACJ members to fulfill their mandates; and
- Increased community capacity among member organizations to work with victims, people who are or have been incarcerated, families impacted by the justice system, and local agencies.
