Grants and Contributions:
Once the materials have been developed, CIVIX will disseminate the resources to the following groups:
•More than 25 education stakeholders, including ministries of education, teacher federations and subject associations;
•More than 375 English-language and French-language boards of education throughout the country; and
•More than 9,000 elementary and high school educators, representing every province and territory.
The resources will achieve the following outcomes among young Canadians:
•Increased awareness about the threat of misinformation and disinformation;
•Improved information literacy habits; and
•Enhanced critical thinking and decision-making skills.
The research for this project will go into the production of the video resources, which will be freely available to view online, by anyone who wishes to use them.
Additionally, CIVIX is planning teacher democratic capacity-building events for teachers beginning in early 2019, where these resources will be shared.
