Description:
Ile a La Crosse and the team supporting safety and wellness have been working in earnest improving safety outcomes in their community. The proposed activities will strengthen community knowledge and capacity associated with addressing on-going crime, loss of connectedness and understanding around Metis identity and culture. This final phase of funding will support the delivery of a community symposium on physical safety and crime prevention.

Program Purpose:
The purpose of the contributions is to provide support to Aboriginal organizations (on and off-reserve), Aboriginal governments and municipalities in collaboration with Aboriginal organizations and or communities to develop tailored approaches to community safety, alternatives to incarceration and reintegration of Aboriginal offenders that are responsive to the concerns, priorities and unique circumstances of Aboriginal communities.
