The RCMP One Spirit Unity Run was created as a Reconciliation event for the 150th anniversary of the RCMP. The event was supposed to take place October 22nd, 2023. However, the event did not receive enough registration nor enough local sponsorship therefore, the event did not proceed. The RCMP provided funding to the RCMP Foundation to cover administration costs and additional expenses that the Foundation incurred.

Expected Results:

The event aims to generate and encourage positive momentum between the RCMP and Indigenous Peoples across Canada. The goal is to create a safe space for members of Indigenous communities, members of the RCMP and Canadians to join together and to heal in a meaningful and respectful way in the spirit of reconciliation and unity. The intent is to focus on rebuilding and repairing relationships by creating an event for all to join together and move forward in unity.
