The Joint Initiative for Digital Citizen Research aims to promote Canadian research that will develop better understanding of the impacts of online disinformation in Canada in order to better inform programs and policies, to build Canada's capacity to conduct research on and related to countering online disinformation and other related online harms and help foster a community of research in the digital citizenship and online disinformation space in Canada.

Expected Results:

This program provides funding to enable social sciences and humanities research collaboration with partners across the academic, public, private and not-for-profit sectors. This program helps stimulate leading-edge, internationally competitive research, fosters strong and productive research collaborations with multisectoral partners and accelerates the use of research results by organizations that can harness them for Canadian economic, social and cultural development.
