Grants and Contributions:
Supplement to a multi-year project
This 36-month project will influence the recruitment and appointment practices of New Brunswick’s political parties in order to increase women’s accessibility to elected positions. Women politicians and stakeholders from political parties, provincial institutions, universities, and community organizations will be engaged as part of a social innovation laboratory to examine barriers contributing to the under-representation of women in politics in order to identify promising solutions. Sustainable guidelines and mechanisms will be developed and integrated in action plans implemented within each political party in order to improve their recruitment and appointment practices.
Supplemental funding has been provided to include the participation of a women leader to the pan-Canadian network of women leaders under the Funding to Advance Gender Equality call for proposals.
