Program Purpose:

This 24-month project will support the development of a strong, effective and sustainable Métis women’s organization that advocates for the interests and needs of Métis women, by delivering on substantive grassroots-informed outcomes and policy positions. The organization will conduct a needs assessment to gather evidence about the challenges faced by Métis women and girls. A report will be developed to inform best practices and lessons learned on how to engage Métis women, which will contribute to the direction of future work. As a result, Métis women organizations across Canada will be better equipped to influence the application of a gendered lens on the governance structures, programs and policies within the Métis National Council.
