Grants and Contributions:
The expected results of this project are as follows:
1) The research results, working paper and final project report summary will be made available to multiple audiences outside the Government of Canada.
2) The project is directly benefiting from the in-kind contributions of two Professors, Master’s students research assistance and various academic resources.
3) The project will provide and present a report and academic paper on evidence-based tests of the temporal impact of government support towards understanding lag between support and impact at the firm-level and the community. These outputs will expand the knowledge base related to public policy issues regarding business innovation programs and better inform future research into the impacts of horizontal business innovation support programs.
4) The project will contribute to the public sector’s capacity building on using quasi-experimental approaches to analysis of programs’ impacts. It will increase comfort and familiarity with results from micro-economic studies amongst program managers.
