Description:

The event features a Fall Lecture seeking to explore the theme “Getting Real on Innovation.” Canada’s innovation performance has, for decades now, been a subject of intense public policy debate. While Canada's workforce and human capital includes the highest share of university or college graduates in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and ranks first in the G-7 for higher-education for research and development performance, these factors have not translated into sufficient private sector Research & Development, intellectual property or commercialization. Attendees are those from the private, public, Academia, and not-for profit sectors.

Expected Results:

The expected results of this project include: shared findings from the panel members in order to use them as foundational knowledge for innovation policy; provide a dedicated event for public service professionals along with a cross-sectoral audience; and demonstrate both a contribution to knowledge related to emerging public policy and public service policy issues.
