The project will organise a hybrid workshop in Ottawa, with the participation of representatives from businesses, provincial and federal government agencies and academia, to present the preliminary results of ongoing research between Statistics Canada, the Organisation of Economic Co-Operation and Development, and the Treasury Board of Canada, on how to measure the spillover effects of universities’ research on regional innovation ecosystems.

Expected Results:
The expected results of this project include: generate new evidence discussing the way in which research and innovation interact, in regions and cities; discuss the policy complementarities that emerge connecting higher education to regional innovation, skills, and sustainable development; and give visibility to data availability in Canada for this type of analysis and ongoing Organisation of Economic Co-Operation and Development, Entrepreneurship Education Collaboration and Engagement processes in Canadian provinces.
