Description:
This 12-month project will allow the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) to more effectively support community-based residential facilities for criminalized women, or facilities that have housing supports as a priority, in response to both the immediate and longer-term crisis posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In partnership with Elizabeth Fry Toronto, emergency funding will be distributed to 11 eligible member societies to address their immediate capacity and emergency preparedness needs and develop longer-term safeguards. CAEFS will then coordinate the gathering, consolidation and analysis of information from recipients and report on the impacts of COVID-19 on criminalized women, the uses of funding, and recommendations for future pandemic responses.
