Description:

This 16-month project will strengthen the capacity of Fernie Pride Society to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by increasing evidence and knowledge of LGBTQ2 challenges and barriers, advocacy planning, partnership development, collaboration and networking. At the end of the project, the organization will have completed a needs assessment; completed an environmental scan; developed an advocacy strategy plan for LGBTQ2 needs; and created a regional network for LGBTQ2 supports which will create opportunities for members of LGBTQ2 communities to gather, connect, network, share knowledge and exist safely in a collaborative space.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
