Description:
This 16-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of the Coalition des familles LGBT to promote LGBTQ2 equality. The following activities will achieve the project's objectives: strengthen inter-organizational collaboration (especially through formal networking and resource/service sharing with LGBTQ2 organizations in 7 administrative regions of Quebec and non-LGBTQ family organizations working with racialized and Indigenous peoples); promote LGBTQ2 equality through an intersectional transverse approach (through a broad-based intersectional LGBTQ2 family consultation to better understand the challenges and needs of the most marginalized members); and increase organizational communication capacity to improve dialogue and reflect the realities and needs of members. By the end of the project, the organization will have increased its knowledge and capacity to advance equality with regard to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
