Description:

This 16-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of the Toronto Trans Coalition Project to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by conducting a needs assessment across the GTA; researching employment barriers for trans and nonbinary people across the GTA; strengthening Board cohesion and effectiveness; developing a new strategic plan; and developing an internal anti-racism and anti-oppression framework. At the end of this project, the Toronto Trans Coalition Project will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.

Program Purpose:

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
