This 47-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the City for All Women Initiative (CAWI) to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced by: transitioning their CAWI Steering Committee into an effective not-for-profit Board of Directors, with a focus on strong governance and accountability; developing a sustainable Human Resources strategy that incorporates succession planning and recruitment and retention strategies; developing a sustainable fundraising strategy and establishing a new financial management system; and developing a social enterprise model for the facilitation of trainings in the Ottawa area on the themes of equity and inclusion, allowing for professional development and income generation for female facilitators, while advancing CAWI’s mission of advancing gender equality. The supplemental funds will cover costs associated with updating the organizational website, including accessibility text, as well as developing branding and promotional material for the social enterprise.

Women's Program

The purpose of the Women’s Program is to advance equality for women in Canada by working to address or remove systemic barriers impeding women’s progress and advancement. The WP supports the Government of Canada’s goal of advancing gender equality in Canada. It is consistent with Government of Canada priorities related to economic prosperity, and supports Canada’s international commitments related to gender equality.
