Agreement Date:
Feb 25, 2021 - Feb 24, 2024
Description:
This 36-month project will build the organizational capacity of Mothers Matter Centre (MMC) and its partners in order to better serve isolated women susceptible to violence, effectively during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The project aims to enhance the skill level of organizational staff so that they can support vulnerable refugee, non-status, immigrant and Indigenous women in remaining connected to essential services and supports to deal with the disproportionate impacts of the pandemic. This will be achieved through the development of an innovative, culturally appropriate, and multi-lingual violence prevention training program that will be delivered to approximately 120 staff across the country with the goal of preventing, identifying and tackling abuse. As a result, MMC and its partners will be able to provide more holistic services and leadership skills to women employed through the program and will build capacity through a train the trainer approach.
