Description:
This 27-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Wabanaki Two Spirit Alliance will achieve this by creating new approaches for Wabanaki 2S women and girls to develop leadership capacity and self-determination, by developing an action-oriented regional strategy in addressing discriminatory policies and practices, and by establishing a Wabanaki 2S Women and Girls’ Regional Advocacy Network. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, and by supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power to support women’s equality. The multiple and varied partners who will offer support to this project are well established and have collaborated with the organization for more than a decade. They represent members of the Indigenous and the 2LGBTQ+ community on a local, regional, and national level.
