Agreement Number:

Agreement Value:

Agreement Date:

Description:
This 29-month project will support a feminist response to and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19 through systemic changes. To achieve this, Relais-femmes intends to prepare a portrait of racialized women engaged in partner-oriented research that will include the systemic barriers they face and the solutions to apply; to help create and strengthen formal spaces specifically by and for racialized women engaged in partner-oriented research; to combat enduring systemic barriers by putting forward best practices for partner-oriented research by, for, and with racialized women; to document the measures taken; and to promote any promising practices. By the end of the project, the organization aims to have helped remove systemic barriers by enhancing networks and collaboration to expedite systemic change and by supporting a positive distribution of power, the right to speak, and decision-making authority in support of women’s equality. Relais-femmes will create separate spaces for racialized women so they can develop strategies for breaking down the systemic barriers preventing them from accessing leadership roles. It will also take stock of their experiences on the conditions for developing knowledge about them, and it will develop knowledge and strategies promoting safety and economic prosperity for women and girls in racialized communities.
