Description:
This 25-month project will strengthen the knowledge and capacity of primary care providers to provide affirming, relevant, and up-to-date health services and supports to 2SLGBTQ+ people. Community-Based Research Centre Society will achieve this by developing four sets of competency resources, each of which consisting of an online training session delivered to primary care providers and a Practice Guide to distill key knowledge and skills building components into an accessible resource. The project will also publish a scoping review to identify existing PCP-facing 2SLGBTQ+ competency resources to reduce duplication of efforts and to inform related interventions.
Informed by formative research and consultation with 2SLGBTQ+ community members and primary care providers, the competency resources developed will focus on mental health, substance use, and sexual and reproductive health.
