The visibility of LGBTQ+ communities in rural Francophone New Brunswick

This 17-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of le Rendez-vous de la fierté Acadie Love inc. in order to promote LGBTQ2 equality. The following activities will help achieve the objectives of the project: support management capacity through a strategic, operational and financial plan; build the capacity of the organization and its employees; strengthen collaboration between LGBTQ2 organizations in the region; increase the capacity of the LGBTQ2 sector and make francophone populations aware of the presence and issues of LGBTQ2 communities in minority Francophone communities. Rendez-vous de la fierté Acadie love inc. will use the additional funds to pay for an employee’s salary and related costs as well as the hiring of consultants. The funds will also be used for research purposes, more specifically for the collection of data and statistics on the needs of Francophone LGBTQ2 organizations in New Brunswick. At the end of the project, the organization will have developed a long-term sustainability plan and an internal governance to ensure continued development. The organization will have established a collaboration between community organizations and other partners in the sector with the objective of raising awareness and integrating the LGBTQ2 community in New Brunswick.

Partnerships and collaborations are established and/or strengthened to support the LGBTQ2 movement LGBTQ2 organizations have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.

Equality for Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression Program

The purpose of ESSOGIE program is to advance social, political and economic equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Advancement towards a greater understanding of the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors that include race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability are encouraged under the Program.
